According to reports, Real Madrid is thinking of boycotting their match against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final because of a disagreement with the referees.

After a shocking update, Los Blancos may not even play in their La Liga opponents’ third El Clasico of the season on Saturday.

After a 1-0 loss to Espanyol in March, Real Madrid, who have been at odds with the authorities all season, submitted a four-page letter expressing their displeasure with two officials.

Additionally, Real Madrid TV released a contentious video prior to the cup final in which they criticised referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea and said that he had a personal grudge against them.

They pointed up a number of calls they feel he made incorrectly against them as referee and on VAR, and they even brought up their victory percentage when he was involved.

A tearful De Burgos Bengoechea addressed the footage during a press conference. He and Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes, the game’s VAR, also talked strongly about the harassment referees endure.

“But I wanted to talk about the consequences of those videos, because for weeks we’ve been seeing referees being insulted on social media and our community being attacked,” he stated.

We’re witnessing declarations. The repercussions of this happening are the issue. The fans vent their wrath on the young person who grabs a whistle and has to go and whistle a junior team as some journalists discuss theft.

They then place a target on a teammate’s head as a result. We must go back to playing football in a cleaner, healthier manner.

But according to an update given on Friday night, El Mundo stated that Real Madrid has skipped the required press conference and open training before the game, and they are even willing to withdraw from the final because they believe the referees are “unfit.”
