According to reports, Manchester United is willing to make a trade bid for Rasmus Hojlund in exchange for a highly regarded former Premier League player.
Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have both let United down when given the opportunity to play up front, so it’s no secret that the club is hoping to get a new striker in the summer.
There are concerns about the future of United’s current young strikers as Wolves star Matheus Cunha seems to be the front-runner to replace him as United’s number nine.
However, a recent report has indicated that United is contemplating letting go of Hojlund as part of a trade for a former Premier League player, so we might finally get an answer to these queries.
Cunha might not be the only forward to arrive at Old Trafford this summer, despite the fact that he might be United’s top target when the transfer window opens in June.
According to earlier reports, United has also expressed interest in Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. However, the Red Devils are also contemplating a spectacular trade for Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman.
The Sun claims that United is willing to make a partial trade offer in which Lookman would move to Old Trafford in exchange for Hojlund rejoining his old team.
Lookman has established himself as one of the top wingers in European football at the Serie A team after stints in the Premier League with Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City.
Lookman has made 114 appearances for the Italian team, scoring 50 goals and dishing out 24 assists. He was a vital member of the team last season after helping them win the Europa League and scoring a hat-trick in the championship game.

The Nigerian international has made 36 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists.
But after a number of public arguments with Gian Piero Gasperini, the manager of Atalanta, this season, it appears that Looman will leave the team this summer, giving United the ideal opportunity.
Hojlund has been frequently linked to a return to his former club, who are still in contact with the 22-year-old’s representation, despite a disappointing stint with United, where he has only scored three goals in 28 league games this season.
The Danish international only played one season for Atalanta before moving to United in August 2023 for a reported £72 million.
