Man Utd Interested in Signing Shock PL Goalkeeper to Replace Andre Onana

In an attempt to address their goalkeeping problems, Manchester United has been connected to an unexpected Premier League goalkeeper. The inconsistency of their number one, Andre Onana, has contributed to the Red Devils’ defensive leakiness over the last two seasons.

After making two blunders against Lyon in the middle of the week, the 29-year-old was benched against Newcastle, leaving his colleagues unimpressed. Altay Bayindir was able to make his Premier League debut at St. James’ Park as a result, but he was unable to bask in the triumph as United lost 4-1. But now that Onana is rumoured to be heading to Saudi Arabia, a prospective replacement has been suggested, which would not sit well with the Old Trafford supporters.

Aaron Ramsdale of Southampton is reportedly considered to be among the shotstoppers being considered to succeed Onana at Old Trafford, according to a report from The Sun. His reputation has plummeted since leaving the Emirates, and the former Arsenal player recently endured the humiliation of his third Premier League relegation this season.

However, Graham Potter is rumoured to be interested in the former Bournemouth star and wants to sign him to West Ham United, so United does have competition. Although there is rumoured to be interest from overseas, the player would like remain in English football.

According to reports, Old Trafford scouts have been monitoring Ramsdale’s play this season and think his Premier League background may play a significant role in their decision to sign him. Supporters on the internet, however, are not at all certain that this is the best course of action and have expressed their opinions quite clearly.

Fans don’t see the Englishman as the right fix

On social media, a number of Manchester United supporters expressed their dismay at Ramsdale’s connections to the team. One fan commented on the post, “Needed a laugh tonight so thank you for this.” Some, however, concentrated on Ramsdale’s track record of remaining in the top flight—or more specifically, his incapacity to do so—and reached the same conclusion.

“Whoa, all right. It won’t work out. One person declared, “There will be a quadruple of relegation coming,” while another said, “I will bet on us going down with him as our goalie.” Adding to the negative, a third said they were unsure “whether to laugh or cry!”

However, the more upbeat members of the fan base were not entirely opposed to the plan; many thought it would still be an improvement over their present number one. Given Southampton’s relegation, Man United must acquire Ramsdale for the upcoming campaign. One fan said, “He will be way better than Onana,” while another said, “It’s not a bad idea for Man United to replace Onana with Ramsdale.”
