Fans claim Matheus Cunha ‘should never play for Wolves again’ after deleted Instagram post amid Man Utd transfer interest

Matheus Cunha’s now-deleted social media remark during Manchester United’s interest has led Wolves supporters to feel he “should never play for the club again.”

After his performances for Wolves, Cunha is drawing attention, and it is believed that Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Manchester United are interested in signing the standout forward.

According to a rumour, Ruben Amorim’s team is thinking about making a summer transfer for the Brazilian, making him a target for Man United.

In his previous two seasons, Cunha, 25, has made 58 appearances and scored 25 Premier League goals. He has also played well against the Red Devils.

He signed a new contract with Wolves in February of last year, which has a £62.5 million release clause.

Cunha has resorted to social media in response to Man United’s interest ahead of Wolves’ match against Tottenham on Sunday.

“Time to be happy, I will follow my dreams, not yours,” he said as the caption for a photo of himself that he shared on his Instagram account. Thus, maintain your composure.

However, the Wolves fan base has shown their disapproval of his tweet.

Some online Wolves supporters believe he “should never play for the club again” and want him to leave the team.

“Get him out of the football club,” one X user said. I’m tired of him.

“Does he not think before he posts?” another person asked on Twitter.

One more person said, “Should never play for us again.”

Wolves manager Vítor Pereira is uncertain if Cunha, who has a contract with the team through 2029, will remain at Molineux for the upcoming campaign, suggesting that a summer departure is imminent.

“I’m not sure about next season. The next game, the next game, is the main emphasis. The team is the main emphasis, and Matheus contributes to the team—not for this game, but for my team,” he stated.

“In the summer, we will see what happens but in my opinion, it’s normal that a player with his potential has ambition.”
