Bombshell Man City 115 charges verdict news drops and will anger fans of rival clubs

There has been an update on the outcome of a hearing into Manchester City’s suspected violation of Premier League regulations.

From September to December 2024, the hearing was held before an impartial commission.

The Premier League winners are charged with a number of alleged violations, all of which Manchester City Football Club denies, and the allegations mostly cover a nine-year period, from 2009 to 2018.

In addition to violating profit and sustainability rules (PSR), City was accused of failing to provide accurate information, failing to provide accurate details for player and manager payments, failing to comply with UEFA regulations, including financial fair play (FFP), and failing to cooperate with Premier League investigations.

The club was first charged with 115 alleged violations, but according to many accounts, the actual number is more like 130.

An update has surfaced, however it was anticipated that a decision would be made public in the first quarter of 2025.

A “verdict in the Premier League’s historic court battle is now unlikely before the summer,” according to an article published by The Telegraph on Thursday, April 10.

According to the article, a decision was anticipated by this time, but no formal deadline was ever established, so there may still be a long wait until the hearing’s outcome and any possible penalties are known. August 16 is the start of the 2025–26 Premier League season, however it is yet unknown if the decision will be made public by then.

Pep Guardiola, the head coach of City, stated in February that he anticipated a verdict “next month,” despite the fact that March has passed with no new information.

Before his team’s FA Cup quarterfinal matchup with Bournemouth in March, Guardiola, 54, was questioned about the matter once more. He responded, “Nothing changes in one more week, two more weeks.”

“Three more weeks, four more weeks.”

The Premier League revealed the allegations against City more than two years ago, which the football team accepted in a statement issued in February 2023.

The statement added, “Manchester City FC is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with.”

“The club is pleased that an independent panel will be reviewing this issue in order to objectively evaluate the substantial amount of unquestionable information that supports its stance. We thus hope that this issue will be resolved once and for all.
