Jamie Carragher takes phone call live on air from unexpected person as entire CBS panel left stunned

While live on CBS Sports, Jamie Carragher answered a phone call, and no one was prepared for the caller.

Carragher was joined on-air by Thierry Henry, Micah Richards, and host Kate Scott for the Champions League quarterfinal first leg matches on Wednesday.

The Liverpool legend’s phone rang halfway through a section, and he hurried to answer it.

Carragher has experienced this before; once, while recording an edition of The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, he was stopped by a call from Ryan Lowe, the former manager of Preston North End.

This time, the caller was none other than his daughter Mia, who wanted to know the whereabouts of her mother, Nicola, Carragher’s wife.

“She wants to know where her mother is,” Carragher retorted. I’m not sure. I’m at the studio in London, sweetie. I’m not sure.

“Do you want to go on loudspeaker live on CBS?”

Around ninety seconds of mayhem ensued as Richards and Scott were eager to ask some questions.

Richards asked if Carragher preferred her or her brother James, who plays for Wigan Athletic and the Malta national team, but she didn’t respond.

However, she did respond, “He’s lovely,” when questioned about her father’s behaviour at home. Occasionally, you yell at me.

His co-pundit then responded to Richards’ playful request that Carragher apologise to the camera by saying, “You just heard Mia Carragher live on air.” There is such a thing. She won’t only be nominated; she will definitely win prizes in the future.

Scott is a nominee for this year’s Sports Emmys’ Outstanding Personality/Studio Host category.

Ernie Johnson of TNT, Mike Tirico of NBC, Scott van Pelt of ESPN, and Scott Hanson of NFL Network are her rivals.

Richards congratulated Scott when he announced the news on Tuesday’s CBS broadcast, saying, “We have an Emmy nominee! Kate, take it away.
