Marcus Rashford bombshell drops on the eve of Aston Villa’s Champions League clash with PSG

On the day of Aston Villa’s crucial Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, a shocking revelation regarding Marcus Rashford’s future with Manchester United has been released.

As Villa prepare to begin their Champions League campaign against Paris Saint-Germain, Rashford may be given the opportunity to return to the starting lineup. The first leg of the match is slated to take place in Paris on Wednesday.

Over the course of his loan from Manchester United, the 27-year-old forward has scored three goals in a total of twelve outings across all competitions since his transfer in January.

Following his start in his team’s Champions League last-16 second-leg match against Club Brugge a month ago, he came in as a substitute for his team’s match against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Prior to reaching an agreement with Villa, Rashford had garnered attention from Paris Saint-Germain.

Rashford has been a subject of curiosity for Paris Saint-Germain for a considerable amount of time, and the club president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has expressed his enthusiasm for the promising forward.

During the summer of 2022, Rashford’s entourage, which included his brother, met with the hierarchy at Paris Saint-Germain, which included Leonardo, who was holding the position of sporting director at the time.

A story that was published by L’Equipe and distributed by Get French Football News stated that Rashford had granted his approval for the transfer to take place at the Parc des Princes.

However, the landscape of the deal shifted when Luis Campos took over for Leonardo. Campos has reinvigorated discussions over the possibility of bringing Rashford to Paris Saint-Germain.

Prior to the reopening of the transfer market this summer, Campos is still interested in the possibility of Paris Saint-Germain signing the England international.

According to a source communicating in English, “From that point on, negotiations became a great deal more difficult.” Everyone had a sense of assurance when Leonardo was in control, but that confidence has completely vanished since he left. I have no doubt that Marcus Rashford would have joined Paris Saint-Germain if Leonardo had remained with the club.

There is a lack of clarity on whether Villa would choose to sign Rashford on a permanent basis, while Paris Saint-Germain is expected to be looking for a new attacker.

He expressed a desire to continue his stay in England in January, despite the fact that Marseille was interested in him.

Nevertheless, this might be subject to change during the summer, when Rashford would be faced with yet another choice about his future.

The present loan arrangement that he is under has a provision that is reportedly worth forty million pounds, which will enable Villa to obtain his services permanently when the transfer market reopens this summer.
