Former Leeds United academy graduate Morten Spencer has regrettably been forced to retire at just 21 years old. The midfielder conveyed the terrible news in an impassioned social media message on Sunday, admitting that a rare health ailment has ended his playing career.

Spencer played for both the Under-18 and Under-21 teams during his five years at Elland Road. Before being diagnosed with a cardiac condition that ultimately forced him to leave the game, he also had stints at Derby County and Sunderland.
