Man Utd Stars Fear Player Who Could Join Them This Summer is ‘Not Good Enough’

According to a Manchester Evening News story, the current Manchester United team fears Jadon Sancho’s return and believes he is not good enough for the Red Devils’ goals under Ruben Amorim. This follows reports that Chelsea, his loan team, may have to pay as little as £5 million to avoid acquiring the struggling winger this summer on a permanent basis.

Sancho was once a Manchester City academy product who became a star at Borussia Dortmund. His terrible tenure at Old Trafford was frequently attributed to the atmosphere rather than his skill or attitude. The 25-year-old may have overreacted in his harsh criticism of his parent club after helping Chelsea score five goals (two goals, three assists) in his first nine Premier League games, as he may make a comeback in a few months.

Sancho has only managed to contribute one more assist in his next 14 league games, and he didn’t score his first goal of the year until this month. Although there isn’t any animosity against him in the United camp, there is a perception that the winger is just not good enough.

How Manchester United Feel About Jadon Sancho

His performances have not been good enough to warrant a third chance

Important people in the United team reportedly don’t mind Sancho’s demeanour, but they believed he had trouble adjusting to the duties of playing for the team prior to his exile by former manager Erik ten Hag eighteen months ago. Sancho, whose contract with United expires next summer, was acquired from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £72.9 million.

In order to sell Sancho and avoid a loss under the Premier League’s sustainability and profitability rules, United would have to obtain a fee of £14.58 million if Chelsea were to back out of their promise to buy him. The cost of the player is spread out over the duration of his contract, and as Sancho has little chance of triggering a one-year extension in 2026, he may have to deal with a similar situation to the one he faced this summer.

Earlier this month, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a co-owner of United, singled out Sancho as one of five players who were “overpaid” or “not good enough” at the club. At a press conference last month, Ruben Amorim also brushed off a query about whether Sancho might rejoin United.

When questioned whether Sancho no longer desired to play for United, the former Sporting Lisbon manager said, “I don’t know.” “My players and my issues are my only priorities. Sancho is not an issue for me.
