According to talkSPORT, Liverpool is optimistic about coming to an agreement to prolong Mohamed Salah’s tenure with the team.
The Egyptian star has not yet signed a new contract, and his current one expires this summer.

His services have been attracting interest from Saudi Arabia and other European countries.
Despite being a top target, the 32-year-old is not currently involved in negotiations to join the Saudi Pro League, talkSPORT is aware.
The Reds quickly turned down Al Ittihad’s massive £150 million offer for the Egypt international in 2023, raising concerns that interest would be rekindled before the next transfer window.
When talking about his future in November, the former Chelsea attacker insisted that he is “more out than in,” which hasn’t done anything to quell rumours.
The Reds, however, are increasingly optimistic about Salah’s ability to remain on Merseyside.
Salah is now leading the Premier League in goals and assists and is having an incredible season.
He is on track to have his finest season in the English top division, having already scored 27 goals and provided 17 assists.
He needs just three more assists to tie the record of 20 goals in a season set by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry.
And he only needs five more goals to match the record of thirty-two he established in his debut season at the club after joining from Roma in 2017.
The announcement was made a day after it was revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold, Salah’s teammate, would be joining Real Madrid when his contract expired this summer.

Liverpool is now optimistic that Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk will make a commitment to staying in Merseyside after the summer.
Additionally, it seems that Salah’s Saudi Pro League managers are giving up on signing him since they think he wants to stay in Europe.
This is in spite of their willingness to offer the Egyptian star a three-year contract for more than £160 million annually.
With that deal, Salah would join Cristiano Ronaldo, who earns around £177 million annually, as one of the wealthiest football players in the Gulf state.
Since January, Salah has had the opportunity to speak with Saudi officials about a free transfer; but, the winger has given priority to contract negotiations with Liverpool.
It now appears that his legacy at Liverpool will keep growing.
Salah has established himself as a genuine Liverpool legend since costing £36.5 million to join the Reds from Roma.
He has contributed 110 assists and scored 243 goals in 392 games for the team.
In that time, he has also won almost every trophy available, including two League Cups, the Premier League, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the FA Cup.
Salah appears to be showing no signs of slowing down, as he is expected to win another Premier League title this season.
