Harry Redknapp appears to make Nazi salute and calls Thomas Tuchel a ‘German spy’ in shocking video

During a charity function, the former Premier League manager made some offensive remarks against the England head coach.

At a charity function, Harry Redknapp, the former Premier League manager, made offensive remarks about England head coach Thomas Tuchel and seemed to make a gesture like the Nazi salute.

During a charity function, Redknapp, 78, made a number of offensive remarks about Tuchel, 51. The Guardian published a video showing the former manager of Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United saying that the England manager is a “German spy.”

“To tell the truth, I believe he is a German spy,” Redknapp remarked. “I’m telling you.” He’s been sent here to f**k us up, really. He has.

He’s like Lord Haw Haw during the battle, saying things like, “We have your best soldiers captured.”

Redknapp then seems to mimic a directive issued to Tuchel, saying, “Go over and ruin that team.” He then adds “Ja” and adopts what looks to be a German accent before making a motion that resembles the Hitler salute, often known as the Nazi salute.

Several audience members responded well to the remarks before Redknapp declared, “I’m going, I’ve got to go and see my accountant.”

According to the Guardian, the incident took place prior to Tuchel’s first two Three Lions games as manager.

Redknapp was frequently associated with the position of England manager during his coaching career, and he stated that he “wanted an Englishman to manage England” following the FA’s announcement of Tuchel in October 2024.

Redknapp said on Sky Sports, “He’s lost his job quite quickly at a couple of clubs.”

“He hasn’t exactly been a huge success. He has visited and left a few clubs. I believe we should have an English manager since I’m a highly patriotic person, but there weren’t many options available.

Only three foreign managers have managed England, including Tuchel, Fabio Capello, and Sven-Göran Eriksson. Football fans, commentators, and the media had mixed reactions to his appointment, but if Tuchel does what no England manager has done since 1966 and wins the 2026 World Cup, then all of the doubters will be proven wrong.
