A player who Ralf Rangnick instructed the club to sign has apparently been linked to a move to Manchester United.
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left United in 2021, German Rangnick was named interim manager.
Rangnick lost eight of his 29 games at Old Trafford, won eleven, and drew ten during his difficult tenure as manager.
The 66-year-old left United to take over as manager of the Austrian national team, although he was initially expected to play a technical role at the club.
Rangnick allegedly suggested the club sign four players while he was in charge.
Rangnick suggested four players that United should target: Josko Gvardiol, Erling Haaland, Konrad Laimer, and Christoph Nkunku, according to Manchester Evening News.
Sky Sports Germany has revealed that Laimer, who currently plays for Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, has drawn interest from United.
Ruben Amorim has reportedly pushed his managers to sign the 27-year-old midfielder who has captured his attention, according to The Metro.
According to the report: “United is reportedly closely monitoring Laymer’s status at the Allianz Arena. Amorim finds Laymer’s versatility particularly enticing, as the 27-year-old is at ease in both midfield and right-back positions.
“After both Matthijs de Ligt and Mazraoui left, United and Bayern have a positive relationship.” In the summer, Noussair Mazraoui moved from Munich to the Theatre of Dreams.

Laimer ‘feels comfortable’ at Bayern, according to SPORT BILD, and is not thinking about leaving.
Laimer recently discussed his lack of consistent starts under new manager Vincent Kompany, saying: “As a player, you always want to play, that’s football.” The circumstances are what they are. You don’t get to play by yearning for it; I play for Bayern Munich.
“As they say, it’s always a shark tank at the end of the day, so you have to defend yourself. There is obviously fierce rivalry and a large number of talented players.
Laimer went on to say: “‘I want to fight my way through and I know I have what it takes.”
