Carlo Ancelotti enters talks to leave Real Madrid for new role in surprise twist

Reportedly, Carlo Ancelotti has begun negotiations to leave Real Madrid, the most successful club in the Spanish La Liga.

It was confirmed in December 2023 that Ancelotti had signed a new contract that would keep him at the Bernabeu until the summer of 2026. Additionally, the contract would keep him there until July 2026.

The Italian, on the other hand, has been mentioned in the past in connection with a relocation away from the capital of Spain.

According to reports that surfaced on Wednesday afternoon, the 65-year-old player has reportedly begun negotiations to leave Madrid.

Ancelotti has reportedly resumed negotiations to leave Madrid in order to take over as manager of the Brazilian national team, as reported by Globo.

They posted the following message on social media: “The Brazilian Football Federation (CFF) has already resumed contacts with the goal of having Carlo Ancelotti in charge of the National Team who will compete in the 2026 World Cup.”

“The Real coach was receptive to the contact, but warned that any progress would be conditional on waiting until the end of the Club World Cup.”

In addition, the Spanish news outlet Relevo confirmed the news that was initially reported by Globo and stated that the transfer will not take place before the Club World Cup that will take place this summer.

In January of 2024, Ancelotti freely admitted that he had engaged in negotiations with Brazil.

The truth is something that everyone is aware of, he stated. Ednaldo Rodrigues, who is now the former president of the Brazilian federation, was the person with whom I established communication. Despite the fact that it is obvious to everyone that it is contingent on my circumstances at Real Madrid, I would like to express my gratitude to him for his affection and interest. It has made me feel very proud. Although I am appreciative of the interest, in the end, it was exactly what I had hoped for: to remain in this location.

More information regarding his future was provided by the manager of Madrid, who stated, “I want to make it very clear: I will never, in my entire life, decide the date of my departure from this club.” At the same time that I am fully aware that it will occur at some point in the future, I will not choose that day.

Furthermore, Ronaldo Nazario, a legendary player from Brazil, stated in an interview with the Charla Podcast (MARCA) that “It was not a fantasy because I helped in the process by talking to Carlo, but he was not released.” Real Madrid did not let him go from the club.

Due to the fact that he did not have Real Madrid’s release, everything became stuck after the negotiations were completed. He would have been fired by Real Madrid and Ancelotti would have taken over, but he won the Champions League and stayed for another year. If he hadn’t won anything, Real Madrid would have fired him.

Argentina, Brazil’s bitter rivals, defeated Brazil by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday night, leaving Brazil in fourth place in the South American qualifying standings for the 2026 World Cup.
