‘Fortunate’ – Simon Jordan makes brutally honest Trent Alexander-Arnold admission as he agrees Real Madrid move

It is ‘fortunate’ for Trent Alexander-Arnold to be joining Real Madrid, according to Simon Jordan.

After hearing the news that the right-back is going to leave Liverpool this summer, the co-host of talkSPORT has provided his immediate reaction to the news.

The information that talkSPORT has obtained indicates that Alexander-Arnold has consented to join the Spanish giants on a free transfer this summer.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, he will sign a contract that will pay him more than £220,000 per week over the course of five years.

The Reds and Arne Slot’s plans for the upcoming season have been dealt a significant blow as a result of the news.

Jordan, on the other hand, acknowledges that Alexander-Arnold has already demonstrated “loyalty” to his boyhood club after more than 21 years of being on their roster.

“There are some people who believe that you should actually tie yourself to one football club for the rest of your natural-born life if you happen to have coming through their development and through their youth,” he said to White & Jordan. “There are some people who believe that you should actually tie yourself to one football club.”

This is a very interesting dynamic that would exist in a world that is ideal, a world that is sentimental, and where people like that live.

When it comes to the real world, it is the responsibility of players to be as loyal as their contract requires them to be and to continue to perform their jobs throughout the entirety of their contract.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold has done that.”

In spite of this, Jordan stated that the 26-year-old player should consider himself fortunate to be joining the team that has won the Champions League 15 times.

In continuation, he asked, “Do I believe that he is as good as people portray him to be like? I don’t believe that to be the case. In my opinion, the fact that he is going to be moving to Real Madrid is absolutely fantastic.

Despite the fact that I believe he is a very good player, I do not believe that he is a regular member of the England team.

I don’t believe that he is an international player who the England team felt was the most reliable player to have in their lineup at certain points in time. And I believe that he is going to have a fantastic move to Real Madrid.

When it comes to loyalty, people are completely destroying themselves over this nonsense. They are completely and utterly obsessed with the concept of loyalty.

If you want to be loyal in football, you should perform your duties in accordance with the terms of your contract, avoid trying to engineer outcomes that are detrimental to your football club, and refrain from going on strike when you are unhappy with something. Aside from that, that is the extent of it in terms of both length and breadth.

Despite the fact that Alexander-Arnold was compelled to withdraw from the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers that are scheduled to take place this month, he already has 33 caps to his name.

Despite the fact that he did not play after the quarterfinals, he was a member of the squad that competed in the European Championships the previous summer. He made four appearances.

While this is going on, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are still in the running to follow the full-back out of the door at the conclusion of the season.

As of this summer, both players are no longer under contract at Anfield, and the club has not yet reached an agreement with two of their most important players to extend their contracts.

However, Jordan is confident that Salah and Van Dijk will extend their contracts. He explained his belief by saying, “I said a year ago, or at least at the beginning of this season, that Trent would be going to Real Madrid, done deal.”

Thus, the fact that this is the case does not come as a surprise to me. He is a resalable asset and a going concern, in contrast to Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, who are probably not as valuable.

Additionally, the former chairman of Crystal Palace stated, “I believe that Salah will sign, and I believe that Van Dijk will sign… Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that Trent would return to Liverpool.

At this point, Liverpool is facing a dilemma in the form of disappointment.

“They’ve taken a commercial view that to extract what they wanted from Trent was more valuable than getting a transfer fee earlier on in his contract.”

In the time since his most recent extension in 2021, Alexander-Arnold has been instrumental in guiding the Reds to another final in the Champions League as well as three domestic cup victories.

Slot’s team is currently in a position to win the Premier League title for the second time this season, as they are currently 12 points ahead of the competition with nine matches left to play.

Up to this point in the season, the defender has participated in 28 league games, scoring twice and contributing six assists and assists.
