Fans Left Stunned at Unrecognisable Player at Liverpool vs Chelsea Legends Match

A club legend’s transformation during Saturday’s charity match against Liverpool left Chelsea supporters speechless. In support of the LFC Foundation, Forever Reds, the Chelsea FC Foundation, and the Chelsea Players’ Trust, legendary players like Peter Crouch and Steven Gerrard took to the pitch at Anfield.

With the aforementioned Crouch pulling out the renowned robot as his double gave the Reds a 2-0 advantage, the home team ultimately prevailed. It wasn’t all bad news for Blues supporters, though, as they were amazed by a player who was “unrecognisable” after playing for them more than 250 times in his career.

Fans Gobsmacked by Ramires Appearance in Charity Match

The Brazilian looks very different from when he was last at Stamford Bridge

Fans were astounded by how different former midfielder Ramires appeared when he returned to English football as a member of the Chelsea legends team after pictures of him training and playing in the exhibition went viral. During his tenure in west London, the Brazilian won numerous trophies, including the FA Cup, Premier League, Europa League, and Champions League.

His most well-known moment occurred at Camp Nou, where he put Roberto Di Matteo’s team within one foot of the 2012 Champions League final with a wonderful chip over Victor Valdes. Fernando Torres’ goal in extra time sealed the victory.

After joining the team in 2010, Ramires made 251 appearances, contributing 34 goals and 17 assists. However, his primary responsibility was to shield the back four with his amazing work rate, which was comparable to that of N’Golo Kante. He retired in 2020 after leaving the team in 2016, but his post-retirement appearance has shocked supporters.

“Am I losing my mind or does this guy look nothing like Ramires?” A social media user wrote: “This is like in FIFA when players who haven’t been in the game for a long time finally get added back into the game but they ain’t been given their player face back.”

While a fourth humorously asserted, “That’s not Ramires, that’s his brother Ramores,” a third stated, “I refuse to believe that this is the same Ramires.”
