Sean Dyche lands new job two months after Everton sacking with multiple offers on the table

With a little more than two months having passed since Sean Dyche’s departure from Everton, he has successfully secured a new position.

Dyche, who was 53 years old at the time, was fired from his position as Everton’s head coach on January 9. His dismissal came just a few hours before the team’s FA Cup third-round match against Peterborough at Goodison Park.

During his two-year tenure with the Toffees, he made an immediate impact in his first season and managed to keep the club in the Premier League during a season that was on the verge of relegation in 2022/23.

It was during the following season that he was able to successfully keep the club in the top division once more, despite the fact that they were given two point deductions.

During the first half of the 2024/25 season, however, he was in charge of a disastrous run of results, which consisted of only three victories in a total of 19 league games.

Since then, he has been brought up in connection with a number of coaching positions; however, he has admitted that he has enjoyed watching his son, Max, play for Northampton Town.

In an interview with talkSPORT on Friday, Dyche stated, “At this stage, I am open to ideas.”

For a very long time, I’ve been playing this game. He continued by saying, “I’ve been playing in the Premier League for ten years.”

“As you are aware, the game is moving at such a rapid pace now. There have been many offers from the media, and I am taking them into consideration.

There is also the fact that the 53-year-old has secured a new position with talkSPORT, a sports radio station in the United Kingdom, despite the fact that he has not yet returned to the dugout himself.

The explanation that Dyche provided was as follows: “I am delighted to be doing a little bit for talkSPORT and Jonny, who is a friend of mine and very knowledgeable on football and life in general.” As a result, I am looking forward to that one.

One can never predict what will happen in the future. The business of football is quite peculiar. Both the viewpoint and the situation are subject to rapid shifts in the very short time span.

“You take a break from the game for a while, and all of a sudden, you become a better manager on your own without actually managing. the reason being that people say, “They need that guy.”

We’ll have to wait and see. The moment I am open-minded is right now. Being able to wake up in the morning and simply observe the day unfold in front of me is something that I am really enjoying doing. In fact, I am really enjoying taking a breather on things.

“It’s not complicated at all. What you are missing out on is simply the day-to-day life.”

The very first episode of Dyche’s show will be broadcast on Sunday, March 23, from twelve to two o’clock in the afternoon.
