Following the star forward’s recall to the England national team, Marcus Rashford’s teammate at Aston Villa has made a veiled reference to Manchester United and Ruben Amorim.
Since joining Villa from Manchester United during the January transfer window, Rashford has participated in nine matches across all competitions over the course of his career.
Despite the fact that he has not yet scored for his new team, he has already recorded an unbelievable four assists.
The 27-year-old Rashford was recalled to the England squad by Thomas Tuchel after being excluded from Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 party in the summer of last year. Tuchel’s decision was based on Rashford’s impressive performances for Villa.
After Tuchel announced that he had been selected for England’s World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Latvia later this month, he took to social media to express his excitement.
Rashford’s club colleague, John McGinn, is also on international duty. He is preparing himself for his national team’s Nations League match against Greece, which has been picked up by a new broadcaster. The match is scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom.
While McGinn was being interviewed in advance of Scotland’s matches this month, he was questioned about Rashford and Marco Asensio, both of whom went on to join Villa during the winter transfer window.
It appeared as though the Scotland midfielder was taking a jab at Manchester United and Amorim for the way in which they dealt with the Three Lions international based on his actions.
“Marcus and Marco showed glimpses which have proved they are at the highest level,” according to the president.
“They have maybe lost their way, for certain reasons, but what they will both get from us is love and support and teammates who will graft for them.”
The captain of the Villa team, McGinn, continued, “We want them to be happy again.” Not only that, but each and every time you see them, they are wearing a smile on their face. When this happens, you can be sure that football players are enjoying themselves and performing at their highest level.
Marcus was a constant threat throughout the second half of that game against Club Brugge, and he played his best game during that portion of the game.
“If we can get those two firing, they’re a pair that every club in the country would take.”
Prior to Rashford’s appearance for Villa, it was reported that Manchester United expressed interest in acquiring forty million pounds in order to finalise the sale of Rashford.
Transfer Markt estimates that Rashford’s current market value is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 46 million pounds.
