In brief
When AC Milan defeated Como 1907 2-1, Joao Felix’s awful start to his career at the club continued.
The striker has not scored in the last seven games after scoring on his debut.
According to reports, Milan has decided whether or not to sign the forward on a long-term basis.
After a career filled with what-ifs and maybes, there was hope and optimism when Joao Felix first arrived at the San Siro that the once highly-touted wonderkid would start to show off what he was capable of. It appeared as though the Rossoneri had found a star when he scored a goal eleven minutes into his debut, just as the doctor had instructed.
After seven games, the 25-year-old is yet to score again, contributing only one assist and one goal in Serie A. When the Portuguese player on the pitch, the enthusiasm he felt after finalising his temporary transfer from Chelsea seems to have vanished, as does the optimism that greeted his initial arrival.
However, based on the most recent sources, it seems that Milan feels the same way about the player and any possible long-term agreement that may keep the striker in Italy. This is bad news for the player, who previously cost £113 million as a teenager.
AC Milan Not Planning to Keep Felix Beyond This Season
The Italian giants do not wish to make the loan move permanent
Given Felix’s dismal start to life at the San Siro, GIVEMESPORT Senior Reporter Fabrizio Romano claims that Milan has no intention of keeping him until the 2024–2025 campaign and has no plans to talk to Chelsea about a possible deal. Although the loan does not include a buy option, it is stated that Milan would not be trying to exercise it at this time.
🔴⚫️ AC Milan are currently not planning any round of talks with Chelsea to keep João Félix at the club beyond this season.
There’s no buy option clause in the deal, but in any case Milan are not advancing at this stage.

Felix has been benched for the last three Serie A games, including the victory over Como 1907, which was overshadowed by Dele Alli’s red card on his comeback to professional football, after failing to score or record an assist in his first four appearances. Even though it might have gone unnoticed, the Portuguese international’s performance was lacklustre.
In 38 minutes of play, he was unable to produce a single attempt on goal and failed at the one dribble he tried. The 25-year-old lost the ball seven times and completed only three of his seven passes, demonstrating his extreme carelessness when in control.
Manager Sergio Conceicao was unimpressed by his brief appearance and, at this pace, will want to cut the striker’s high salary in light of what he has—or, more appropriately, hasn’t—brought to the table so far. Felix’s rapid expulsion from a squad after showing early potential is not new; this experience has previously occurred at Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, which may make it even more worrisome.
Joao Felix has not started any of Milan's last three matches. This loan should humble him.
If he can't start at Milan, he has little chance of doing that at Chelsea. He should just stay humble and work harder. He's still young.

Italian Media Offer More Criticism Towards Felix
The striker has been slammed for his work rate and end product
The Italian media had already begun to criticise Felix before his poor performance against Como, arguing that the 25-year-old’s production and work rate were insufficient to support his £130,000-per-week deal. According to one source, Milan might be hesitant to sign him to a long-term contract because of “his lofty wages and his lack of end product.”
They went on to say that the forward has not changed since his teenage years, when he was regarded as one of the best prospects in the European game. “His lack of defensive work rate has proven problematic for a manager who necessitates all of his players to chip in out of possession and do the dirty work to win the ball back, and he is also losing possession at an alarming rate due to his high-risk style of play,” they said.
Felix is at his lowest point in his most recent loan stint, six years after making his debut for Benfica and Portugal. He is on the verge of changing clubs once more because he hasn’t developed and advanced from wonderkid to superstar. Felix is getting ready to leave Milan and bring his skills to a new squad just one month after arriving.
