Kylian Mbappe’s immediate reaction to Julian Alvarez’s controversial penalty speaks volumes

The instantaneous response that Kylian Mbappe, a sensational player for Real Madrid, gave to Julian Alvarez’s penalty has gone viral.

A significant amount of controversy occurred at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Wednesday evening, when Atletico Madrid played host to Real Madrid, one of their fiercest rivals, in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

One of the only goals of the evening was scored by Conor Gallagher, which resulted in the game going all the way to penalties.

A penalty kick that Alvarez had taken during the shootout was disallowed by the video assistant referee (VAR) after replays revealed that the Argentine appeared to make contact with the ball twice, which is against the rules.

Immediately following the controversial penalty that Julian Alvarez was given, Kylian Mbappe’s reaction

After seeing Alvarez score, the Frenchman turned his head away in dismay, but he quickly turned back around and made a gesture with two fingers, which suggested that the Argentine had touched the ball twice.

It also seemed as though Mbappe was saying, “Dos toques,” which is a Spanish phrase that means “two touches” in English.

Around this time, Mbappe made his way towards the referee in order to inform him about the possible double touch. At this point, other players, such as Lucas Vazquez and Raul Asencio, were already having conversations with the official. You can view the video that is provided below.

On social media, a supporter expressed their reaction by saying, “Mbappe has sharp eyes.”

Someone else on Twitter said, “Captain Mbappe, I’m hearing.”

An additional supporter chimed in, saying, “That is insane from the halfway line.”

It was written by another individual that “Sharp eyes caught it instantly!”

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti responded to a question about the incident by saying, “Football… It is certainly peculiar. Due to the fact that he shoots with his right hand and touches with his left hand, he requires two touches to complete the action. It’s a game of chance.”

In the meantime, Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico, was not entirely certain.

He made the following statement: “When he plants his foot and kicks, the ball does not move as much as a single inch.”

In the event that the video assistant referee (VAR) called it, I have never witnessed a VAR call a penalty, but it is still valid, and they will have seen that he touched it. I have a strong desire to believe that they will have noticed that he touched it.
