The entire CBS panel was rendered speechless by Micah Richards’ comment regarding David Beckham.
Richards was back in the CBS studio on Wednesday night to spearhead the network’s coverage of the Champions League alongside Kate Scott (formerly Kate Abdo), Thierry Henry, and Jamie Carragher.
Thanks to their tight friendship and on-set banter, the beloved quartet has provided fans with some of the most hilarious moments in Champions League history.
Drilling noises seemed to distract Richards during one segment of the show.
He expressed regret: “Sorry, I’m hearing drilling somewhere.”
Scott, the host, asked, “Why has that upset you so much?” You’re constructing a set for David Beckham, apparently, because of the drilling. It’s a massive structure.
Richards exclaimed, “Ohhhhh, he can drill what he wants.” by this point.
Henry and Carragher were obviously taken aback by the Englishman’s remark.
Quickly, Richards’ smile disappeared from his face as he realised what he had said.
The footage is available for viewing below.
So Scott continued, “Moving on, it’s a massive night in Madrid.”
A supporter commented, “I love this bunch.” on Twitter.
One more person said on Twitter: “These guys are crazy.”
One more admirer chimed in with the word “amazing.”
Another person commented, saying, “These guys are soooo unserious man.”
Fifthly, “The best part about the Champions League are these guys.”
Still another viewer chimed in: “LMAOOOO bro, best sports show on TV.”
Atletico Madrid will be aiming to bounce back from a first-leg loss to Real Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Englishman Conor Gallagher scored in the first minute to tie the score on aggregate, giving Diego Simeone’s team a perfect start.
“Atletico work the ball out wide really well,” ex-Liverpool and Real star Steve McManaman said on TNT Sports. In the middle, Conor Gallagher does brilliant work, but it’s the Englishman who manages to get the touch. Gallagher, not Jude Bellingham, is the one. This game is off to a bang. Keep score after 30 seconds. Oh my.
The final eight will feature either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid facing off against Arsenal or PSV Eindhoven.
