Support is being given to Dele Alli in his pursuit of a position as an academy coach at one of his previous clubs.
Besiktas, a Turkish club, played Antalyaspor in a match that ended in a scoreless draw in February 2023. Since then, the 28-year-old midfielder has not participated in any competitive first-team minutes.
Regrettably, Dele has suffered injuries in recent times. Due to the fact that he required surgery to repair a tendon injury, his season-long loan agreement with the Turkish club officially came to an end in April of 2023.
Additionally, Alli suffered additional setbacks upon his return to his parent club, Everton, which was much anticipated. One of these setbacks was a groin injury that necessitated surgery.
Despite this, the midfielder has just recently signed a contract with Como, a team that competes in Serie A, for a period of 18 months, with the possibility of extending it for an additional year.
“The club is committed to helping Dele rediscover his best form,” said manager Cesc Fabregas. “The club believes in Dele’s potential and is invested in helping him.” It is without a doubt that the team will benefit from his experience as well as his leadership qualities.
A little more than a month after his arrival, Dele was included in a matchday squad for the first time in two years on the evening of March 2, when Como faced Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. This was the first time that Dele had been designated for a matchday squad.
As Fabregas’ squad gradually incorporates the midfielder into their roster, it appears that the midfielder is getting closer than ever before to making his long-awaited return to the actual playing field.
With that being said, Clive Allen, a former striker for Tottenham, believes that there is a possibility that Dele will play a role at Tottenham in the future.
According to what he said to Tottenham News, “it is possible that [a return to Tottenham] could be possible.” Every single football fan will be sending him their best wishes while he is at Como. He has experienced a significant decline, which is something that can occur.
Given that he is making a comeback and getting back into the game, let’s keep our fingers crossed that he is able to do so. Maybe one day he will be able to return to the level that we are familiar with.
Allen went on to say, “Perhaps a position at Tottenham.” I am unsure as to whether he is a coach or a possible manager, or whether he is an academy coach meant to impart knowledge to younger individuals. It is possible that he will decide to educate young players about depression and the importance of avoiding certain situations.
The information provided by Fabregas indicates that Alli is not yet prepared to make his debut for Como.
“It’s a progression for him,” he said in a press conference that took place not too long ago. “He travelled to Rome with us,” she said. Because he is not yet ready to play, he will also be sitting on the bench tomorrow, and after that, we will see what happens… It is necessary for me to sense that the time is right to bring him in.
