Before naming his first squad since being appointed, Thomas Tuchel has already made it abundantly clear how he feels about Marcus Rashford’s participation in the England national lineup.
Gareth Southgate was replaced as England’s coach by Tuchel, and he will announce his first squad on Thursday, in advance of the World Cup qualifiers that will take place this month.
The Three Lions will play two games in a row at the end of the month, one against Albania and the other against Latvia.
Since the beginning of the year, Tuchel has been conducting scouting missions in preparation for his first England squad, which will be selected on Thursday. He has compiled a short list of 55 players to choose from.
Despite the fact that Rashford has returned to action after leaving Manchester United during the January transfer window, it is still unknown whether or not he will be included in the squad.
In spite of the fact that Ruben Amorim kicked him out of the first team at Manchester United, he has been able to shine while playing for Aston Villa, where he has been given playing time.
The 27-year-old player has been given the hope by Tuchel that he can regain his England spot if he plays regularly, which he has been doing, as he has started playing for his new team in both of their most recent matches.
Rashford was not included in Southgate’s squad for the Euro 2024 tournament; however, the former Chelsea manager is reportedly a huge fan of the star forward, as stated in a report from The Sun.
According to a reliable source: “Tuchel told Marcus and his representatives he saw Marcus as an essential part of the England squad going forward.”
Having played for England for a total of sixty times, Rashford has scored seventeen goals for his country.
Due to the fact that Tuchel is a fan of the player, it is possible that he will be included in the upcoming squad of the German manager.
In the days when he was playing for Paris Saint-Germain, he had nothing but praise for Rashford before the team’s Champions League match against Manchester United.
“We value him a lot more when he’s playing in England and not in Parc des Princes honestly because it can get a little bit annoying with him,” he joked with reporters.
With all due respect, the individual in question is a very young adult who takes responsibility both off and on the pitch, which is truly very impressive.
“I’ve met him three times as an opponent and I meet a calm guy, I meet a humble guy which is amazing because I like this mixture a lot.”
Tuchel continued by saying, “From a sporting standpoint, it is evident that he is a significant threat due to his speed and his ability to score with his precision in finishing, as well as his determination and his quality.”
“He is so precise with his finishing both outside and inside the box, he is super rapid on counterattacks and is strong in the air from headers.”
