Alisson Interview Answer Prompts Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher to Walk Off Set

After a playful altercation with Alisson on Wednesday night, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards rushed off the CBS Sports stage. The humorous exchange with the Brazilian goalie followed a magnificent display in which he made nine saves before Harvey Elliott’s incredible goal in the 87th minute gave Liverpool a thrilling 1-0 victory over PSG at the Parc des Princes.

Alisson’s Man of the Match performance has given the Reds a lot of confidence going into next week’s Champions League round of 16 second leg at Anfield, where they hope to face the winner of Club Brugge vs. Aston Villa in the quarterfinals. The same cannot always be true for Carragher and Richards in the studio, even though Arne Slot’s team is refusing to accept second place on the pitch.

For those who are not aware with CBS Sports’ strategy, the American broadcast largely relies on comedy and entertainment in contrast to broadcasts like the BBC or Sky Sports. Earlier in the competition, Richards and his colleagues made repeated jokes about Brest, demonstrating how the panel usually prioritises humour over in-depth research. Wednesday evening was no different.

Why Carragher and Richards Walked Off Set During Alisson Interview

The duo are fed up of playing second fiddle to Thierry Henry

Following the game, Thierry Henry, Carragher, Richards, and Kate Scott were on the CBS Sports panel interviewing Alisson. Richards, a former defender for Manchester City, said: “Alisson, have you seen our show? Have you watched the videos on the internet?

Richards remarked, “Okay perfect, so who’s your favourite?” after Alisson replied in the affirmative. The former defender then made an effort to win Alisson over by showcasing his Portuguese abilities. “By the way, nice Portuguese,” the goalie retorted.

“I would have to say Thierry, legend, I believe. During his playing days in the early 2000s, I watched a lot of Arsenal games as a child. Thus, in Brazil, it was the only team broadcast on television.

At this moment, as Alisson kept praising Henry, Richards and Carragher got up and left the set. “I’ve had enough of this,” Richards remarked playfully, as the two seemed tired of their colleague receiving all the attention. See the entire moment below:

Alisson’s Performance Against PSG

The Brazilian proved he is one of the best in the business

Alisson’s gloves appeared to catch every shot that Liverpool attempted as the Brazilian displayed a masterful display of goalkeeping. He has once again generated discussions about being the finest in the world after making nine vital saves in 90 minutes and withstanding constant pressure from the French hosts.

His performance on Wednesday night was just incredible, according to almost everyone. Harvey Elliott, the winner of the match, remarked on Alisson’s performance (see his whole highlights below):

“This man is amazing. The world’s best. He keeps us playing all the games he shows us. I had a chance to pay this man back tonight.

“I don’t know where we would be without him,” he continued. We can keep finishing chances if he can continue to keep them from getting in. An excellent team effort.

On Saturday afternoon, Liverpool will return to Premier League action when they play Southampton at Anfield. To find out which of the two dominant domestic leaders will secure a spot in the Champions League quarterfinal, they will then host PSG at Anfield on Tuesday night.
