Paul Scholes names FOUR Man Utd players not suited to key roles for incoming boss Amorim

Paul Scholes, a stalwart of Old Trafford, has questioned if four Manchester United players are qualified to play a crucial role for new manager Ruben Amorim.

Thoughts have already shifted on which players would fit into Amorim’s setup, the Sporting manager will oversee his farewell game for the team this weekend before beginning his new position at United on Monday.

Throughout his coaching career, the highly regarded Portuguese coach has employed a three-at-the-back scheme, switching between 3-4-3, 3-4-2-1, and 3-5-2 schemes.

Scholes is not sure he has the appropriate players for the important wing-back positions, even though United has a lot of center-back possibilities. He is anticipated to keep up that strategy at Old Trafford.

Scholes questioned whether Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho would want to “run back” as wing-backs in evaluating United’s alternatives in such a formation. He also questioned whether Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui would be sufficient in the future.

“There are three or four players, especially forward players, who don’t want to do the ugly side of the game,” Scholes stated in an interview with TNT Sports prior to the team’s 2-0 Europa League victory over PAOK. He will have to force them to do that.

We discuss the back three, and they can select from six center halves. Casemiro and [Manuel] Ugarte are his two central midfielders. The issue might be with the wingbacks.

Does he prefer wingers who will sprint back? I don’t think Rashford and Garnacho are suitable for that if that’s what he wants. Does he want Dalot and Mazraoui, two wing-backs who might be somewhat better on defense but less effective offensively?

A new Man Utd role is predicted for Mainoo.
Scholes believes there may be a new role for some players, even though he has concerns about their ability to play to their full potential under Amorim.

Kobbie Mainoo, who plays in a more advanced midfield position, is predicted by the former Red Devils midfielder to be a crucial member of the Portuguese team.

“He then received his two no10s,” Scholes continued. One of them is Fernandes, and Mainoo might also be one of them, in my opinion.

“I believe he will play better at a higher level because it will fit it better.”

Mainoo mostly plays in the defensive midfield and No. 8 positions, but only 13 of his appearances for United across all age levels have been as a No. 10.

Scholes clearly sees something in the England international’s game that Amorim could use in a more creative capacity going ahead, despite the fact that he has only contributed seven assists in more than 100 appearances across all competitions.

Current Man Utd news: Onana future doubts and sane inquiries
Despite competition from Arsenal and other elite teams, Manchester United has reportedly made “enquiries” about signing Leroy Sane, a winger for Bayern Munich.

There is currently no hint that the former Manchester City player would sign an extension with Bayern, as his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Numerous elite clubs are vying for the services of Sane, 28, who is regarded as one of the best wingers in Europe on his best days.

According to sources, Andre Onana may suffer if Ruben Amorim is appointed as Manchester United’s new manager, which is scheduled to happen next week.
