GOOD NEWS : Cole Palmer injury update: Latest news and possible return date as Enzo Maresca makes Arsenal admission

Since Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Manchester United due to a challenge from Lisandro Martinez, the Chelsea attacker has not practiced.

Cole Palmer will not play for Chelsea against Arsenal this weekend due to Lisandro Martinez’s strong challenge.

In Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United, the Argentine’s challenge caught the England international.

Referee Robert Jones booked Martinez, but after a VAR check, Martinez was not sent off even though he had caught Palmer high.

Enzo Maresca hopes to resume training and play against the Gunners on Sunday, despite not being able to play against Noah in the Conference League on Thursday since he is not in the team.

Maresca remarked, “He didn’t train yesterday.” Therefore, we’ll check whether he can practice with us today. We hope so, but we must wait and observe before making a decision.

“Yes, there is a risk. The tackle wasn’t your typical one, therefore he didn’t train for the past few days. I hope he can return.

“He [Sancho] is getting better from that [illness], but he had a knock during the session, and he will definitely be absent tomorrow.” However, we’ll see if he’s free on Sunday; if not, he won’t be available until after the international break.

And because of his deep squad, Maresca is adamant that he will keep switching up his team between tournaments.

Instead of making adjustments for Sunday’s major game, we do so because we have 24 and 25 guys who are healthy and capable of competing in a variety of events. We’ll most likely make adjustments tomorrow as well.

Since the season is so long, all of them will play in the Conference League, Premier League, or FA Cup at some point. This does not imply that those who are participating in the Premier League will not play in the Conference.

“As you can see from the outside, we have two teams, but we have one squad that is all fit, and we will try to use them all.”

After Sunday’s match at Old Trafford, Maresca was upset and insisted that it was “quite clear” that the challenge called for a red card.

We are currently waiting because Cole was in the changing room with ice. “Hopefully, it’s nothing significant,” the boss of Chelsea stated.

“I am aware that I will be questioned on the referee’s choice, and I believe that it is quite obvious to practically everyone, but the referee is there to make the call, and he made a different choice.

“At the end of the game, I informed [the referee] that it is a red if you go for the player instead of the ball. In my opinion, the choice to go for the player’s legs when there is no intention to go for the ball is unquestionable. I believe it’s quite obvious that it was red.
