BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal Manager Resigns After Poor Start Due to pressure from the Board of Directors, the press made mention of some key issues that made him take a big decision

Arsenal Football Club reported on Tuesday that Jonas Eidevall has resigned as Head Coach of the women’s first squad, effective immediately.
According to Naija News, Jonas will join Arsenal in June 2021 from FC Rosengard in Sweden, where he won two FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup crowns over three seasons.

During Jonas’ spell in north London, Arsenal Women also advanced to the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals in 2022/23 for the first time in a decade.

The club announced that First Team Assistant Coach Renée Slegers will be the team’s Interim Head Coach.

Arsenal’s Sporting Director, Edu Gaspar, stated on the club’s website: “We congratulate Jonas for his devotion to the club and achievements since joining us in 2021.

“We have tremendous admiration for his devotion and commitment to our women’s first team, and we acknowledge his contribution in Arsenal Women’s growth and development. We all wish him the best in the future.

“Our focus will now turn to the process of appointing a new Head Coach, and in the meantime, supporting Renée, as she takes interim charge of the team starting with two important fixtures this week.”

Clare Wheatley, Director of Women’s Football, said: “We’d like to express our gratitude to Jonas for his hard work and dedication to Arsenal Football Club over the last three years.”

“Jonas has helped us win back-to-back trophies in the previous two seasons, as well as many unforgettable moments on the field.

“We wish Jonas and his family the best of health, happiness, and success in the future.

“We have full confidence in Renée to take responsibility for the team in the interim period.”

Arsenal’s search for a new Head Coach is begun, and the club will make a further statement once the process is completed.
