Although I am aware that he is the fans’ favorite, I will not be starting him today; this is a clear choice on my part.I’ve learned my lesson from past encounters. The ONE Arsenal player who won’t be sniffing the starting berth today is revealed by Mikel Arteta. Not Jorginho, Not Havertz
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent urges Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, to bench Gabriel Martinelli in favor of Raheem Sterling on the left wing of the Gunners this weekend when they play Manchester City.
Bent says Martinelli is overly nervous and that Sterling should start on Sunday against Man City instead of the Brazilian.
At the Etihad Stadium, both teams will play each other in the Premier League.
“Martinelli did himself no favors [in the UEFA Champions League match against Atalanta].” Bent said to talkSPORT, “He [Arteta] can play [Gabriel] Jesus out there but he looks lacking.”
“If he picks Martinelli fairly enough, you go fair enough. If he picks Sterling fairly enough, you go fair enough,” is, in my opinion, the sole spot or position [left flank]. “I’m heading Sterling,” he declared.
“Martinelli, did you see his opportunity [against Atalanta]? I believe he scored six goals last season.”
“A lack of self-assurance; he appears almost too nervous to enter.”
