‘Without players you cannot play’ – Man City boss Pep Guardiola speaks out on Rodri strike threat amid loaded fixture schedule

Pep Guardiola has supported Rodri when he said that the players of Manchester City might think about going on a “strike” because of their demanding schedule.

Rodri said that players might attack
Guardiola asserts that “players have the power to make change” and that City may play more than 70 games this season.

Consequently, what happened?
Guardiola agreed with Rodri that the players are what matter most in football, saying that any improvement would only come from his own players’ performances. Since “we are the guys who suffer,” Rodri had criticized the plan to add extra football games to the schedule, claiming that many players would be inclined to walk out.

A new Champions League format from UEFA has resulted in additional fixtures being added to an already packed football schedule. Rodri said that the players’ well-being was being disregarded because City would be participating in the redesigned Club World Cup at the end of the season, which will include more teams and matches. However, some have dismissed the idea of a strike as “nonsense.”

GUARDIOLA’S MENTION
“I agree that many voices are talking about the players,” Guardiola remarked. The players must be the ones to make changes if they are to occur. They alone possess the ability to alter anything.

“The company can function without owners, managers, athletic directors, or the media, but it cannot function without players. They have the only authority to carry it out.”

GUARDIOLA AND MAN CITY’S FUTURE?
The competition between Guardiola’s City and Arsenal on Sunday might decide who wins the title at the end of the season, so the tension does not stop there.

Then, in the space of a week, City will play in three different competitions: first, in the Carabao Cup, at home against Watford; second, in the Premier League, away against Newcastle; and third, in the Champions League, away to Slovan Bratislava before the international break.
