(4-2-2-2) New formation due to the arrival of Luke Shaw and Hujlund”, Possible Man United line up vs Barnsley – As Ten Hag makes three crucial changes

In an attempt to win the EFL Cup at home, Manchester United will host Barnsley on Tuesday night at Old Trafford. The Red Devils’ recent stunning 3-0 victory away to Southampton should lift their morale going into this midweek cup match.

Erik ten Hag is anticipated to make numerous changes for this match, although he will continue with his preferred 4-2-3-1 configuration. In the latter third, Ethan Wheatley might have the opportunity to lead the line for the Mancunian giants.

Manchester United’s expected lineup against Barnsley’s defence is 4-2-3-1.

For the Red Devils, Altay Bayindir will play in between the sticks in an attempt to preserve a clean sheet at Old Trafford. At the middle of Man United’s defence, Harry Maguire will work with Jonny Evans to try to hold the opponents at bay throughout the match.

As the right back, Noussair Mazraoui will still be used, while Harry Amass will try to draw attention as the left back. In the Barnsley half, they will both be granted permission to move forward and express themselves.

On the bench, Matthijs de Ligt will provide coverage for the defensive positions.

midfield

The Manchester United team will use Casemiro and Toby Collyer as the core of their midfield as they want to dominate the opposition in the middle of the pitch. As part of ten Hag’s offence, the talented trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, and Antony will play right in front of them. For the three of them to generate enough opportunities to win convincingly at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, they must gel well together.

Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Christian Eriksen will be kept off the pitch in order to give themselves time to recover and maybe contribute in the second half.
Assault

In the last third, Ethan Wheatley will have the opportunity to lead Man United’s attack. He needs to figure out a way to give the Barnsley defence some trouble.

Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford will be available to start the game on the bench and may be called upon later on if necessary.
